How it all began:

In September 2015, an elderly gentleman from a neighboring town asked if I was interested in looking after or harvesting 20 plum trees. I really enjoyed this new hobby and tried my hand at making jam and producing liqueurs and schnapps.

At the end of 2015, I was also allowed to distill my first schnapps. In the following year, I focused on marketing and sought farmland for additional orchards, unfortunately without success.

After several setbacks, I was able to establish my first orchards in 2017. In 2018, I managed to convince several delicatessen store owners of me and my products. After things went relatively well, I decided to specialize in other crops. I used the spaces between the fruit trees to grow watermelons. A pioneer project in 2019 and it worked.

Since January 1, 2020, I have added apricots and now manage over 12,000 fruit trees. I now run my business on a full-time basis. During the peak season, up to 20 people work in my operation.

Milestones:

• 2022 Acquisition of new equipment/ renovation of operational buildings/ expanded fruit area by 0.5 hectares
• 2023 Acquisition of new machines/ developed new products/ expanded fruit area by 1.7 hectares
